Community Specialists is owned by its senior managers, Ron L. Hickman and Rosemarie Wert.

Mr. Hickman and Ms. Wert understand that community association management is a unique business compared to managing investment, rental or commercial real estate.

Mr. Hickman's background includes overseeing various types of residential and commercial real estate in 19 cities across the United States. Ms. Wert is a pioneer in the condominium management industry who, in her long-standing career, has continuously overseen the management of high-rise associations.

Community Specialists is the only property management firm in Chicago in which it's principals are directly involved in the day-to-day management of associations.

While the firm began in the 1980's as part of a diversified commercial and residential real estate management organization, Mr. Hickman and Ms. Wert recognized that condominium associations required a more finely tuned company structure. Community Specialists was formed to focus entirely on the management of quality high-rise condominium associations located in Lake Shore area markets. To better direct the firm's attention, Community Specialists is further defined by what it does not do: we do not manage smaller or suburban condominium associations.
